Senior at Burlington High School

February 27, 2019

I am currently taking a technology class at Burlington High school during my second semester. I really find technology a struggle for me to understand sometimes, so I'm trying to be optimistic and keep my eyes open to having a career involving technology. Technology has opened the door to many opportunities for kids and adults to learn more and expand on new ideas. It has really become a big part in our everyday life and will continue to grow more and more in the future. Being only eighteen years old, I am going to be able to watch technology incorporate itself into our world. People went from creating an iPhone to creating cars that can drive themselves. It has really expanded in order to make our lives easier one day. I would not be surprised if one day robots are taking our order at restaurants!

With the expectations to choose a career next year for college, technology has really been incorporated into almost every career. I have an interest in business as a major because it is very broad and can be used in many ways. Just in the business world, technology has advanced. It has been used to promote marketing services and products to customers and used to simplify communication between people. I can only see it growing farther from here. With whatever career I end up choosing, technology will need to be something that I can be able to work with in order to succeed in my future job.

This video is super cool and shows what our world has come to due to the technology we have today to expand on our ideas.

April 2, 2019

These past few weeks have been mostly a blur. They have flown by, and it is now time for internships. I have recently committed to a college, UMass Lowell to study Business Finance and administration. I am hoping I enjoy my time there. I am hoping that what I have learned in this class will help me have a little guidance and knowledge in my career. I hope that I can use some of the coding and ability to use and work with imovie to help me with school and my career. I feel like I will have to take one class here and there that is somewhat related to using technology. I will definitely be having my math classes online and have to use a software called Blackboard to see my classes and schedule. I know how to use computers and Apple products and I think that I will be investing in a newer and bigger Mac laptop for school. I won't need a complicated device, just one that I can rely on and get my work done on. I have also weighted out the pro's and con's of an ipad with a keyboard vs. a laptop, and I will definitely be getting a laptop. I find that the ipads are slower and don't seem to last as long as the Macs. I have an ipad since freshman year, and it only lasted one year before it was glitching and slowing down. I also like the feeling of having a larger screen on my laptop and being able to just use the keyboard. I find touchscreens annoying and find that they glitch and are VERY slow, so therefore I do not find them useful at all. If it is ever Mac vs. Ipad, Mac most definitely wins!

Shutting off for today,
